Covid-19: important message for those attending the Women In Meat Awards Ceremony on 18th November 2021

We want to ensure all guests at the Awards Dinner and Ceremony have an enjoyable experience – but it is also important that everyone feels safe and comfortable.

You must not attend the event if you have Covid-19 symptoms or are required to self-isolate because you have tested positive for Covid-19.

We encourage attendees to take a lateral flow Covid-19 test within 48 hours before attending the event, ideally on the morning of the 18th November. If the test result is positive you should not attend and arrange for a PCR test at your local centre.

Should government rules change about public assembly before 18th November you may need to demonstrate on entering the event that you have received covid immunisation, but the organisers stress that at this time no requirement of this nature is in place.

Individual hand gels will be provided for every guest on each table and there are sanitising stations located around the hotel. Additional cleaning and wiping down surfaces will be taking place at the hotel.

Face masks are not mandatory, but please use them if you wish. We have asked that staff serving at the dinner wear masks – although this cannot be made mandatory.

Tables will be spaced apart more widely than usual in the large Kensington Suite.

Wrist bands…

Show your greeting preference by taking and wearing a wrist band please.

Free coloured wrist bands will be available at the entrance to the drinks reception area / dinner in the Kensington Suite. Please take one and wear it so you can indicate to others the level of contact you feel comfortable with. These operate as follows:

Red: I am happy to talk but please keep your distance and respect that I do not want close contact.

Amber: I am open to elbow and fist bumps.

Green: I am open to handshakes and hugs.
